I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. I contemplated sharing a snippet from one of my WIPs, but since one is a spin-off from ’Til Death Do Us Part (to be released at JMS Books tomorrow! Available for pre-order, now), and the other is a direct sequel, I feel like I should hold off a week or two before sharing from those. So, here’s another snip from ’Til Death Do Us Part:
For a little background leading into this, Henry is the first-person POV MC in this scene (who readers of last week’s snippet might remember was going down in an airplane crash). Needless to say he survived and made it to a small island. So did two other men and an older baby. “Devon” asked the question that opens this scene, following some discussion regarding how they will survive.
“How do you know this shit?”
Buddy held his half-mangled mango up to me and chanted, “Dadadadadadadadada.”
Jesus Christ. My Grinch heart was never going to be able to stand up to that. Devon muttered, “Ew,” as I took the slimy fruit, grimaced, and removed the pit with my teeth and fingernails, then peeled back the balance of the skin before handing back the gloppy mess.
Humanitarian mission accomplished, I returned my attention to Devon.
Technically the book releases tomorrow, but I see that the buy-links at All Romance eBooks and OmniLit are actually live for download right now. Hahaha! Oh, boy. I sure do not miss the days of my kids handing me mangled, yucky things and expecting me to do something with them. Henry is a very patient man.

It is. Devon is actually a side character, but he does feature rather prominently in the story. 🙂

I can’t think of much worse than being stuck on a desert island with a toddler who isn’t your own. Oh yeh – being stuck on a desert island with a toddler who is your own. I mean what the hell is the kid going to do, climb trees? He’ll be bored all the time and they can’t even read to him. Rather them than me 😀
