Tiny or tall, brave or smallit is the size of our hearts that matter at all …

Legend tells that deep in the Land of Cambria, in the heart of the Magical Forest, a tiny race of enchanted beings, no bigger than a butterfly, still call the forest their home. Hidden away from the prying eyes of humans, these magical fairies keep their magic a secret from those who would use it for evil. Yet after thousands of years in hiding, the secret of the fairies is about to come out…

For young Raine, being a princess of the Magical Forest means duty before desire, and her fate to marry a fairy of her father’s choosing becomes a bit more complicated when she accidentally falls for Bryce—a human. In a desperate plea to be with the man she loves, Raine seeks the aid of Vitra, the Dragon Queen of the Dark Forest, in order to become a human and catch Bryce’s eye.

Blinded by true love and guided by destiny, Raine’s journey will jeopardize those she is sworn to protect and leave the fate of the Magical Forest to the evil forces at play. Can she save her kingdom from darkness? Or will she give up her heart’s true desire in order to realize her destiny?

Excerpt

A broad smile spread across Virtra’s lovely face. “First thing’s first.” She raised her arms slowly as she chanted, “Grestrvance rashada molique, grestrvance rashada molique, grestrvance rashada molique!”

Raine felt faint as the blood rushed to her head. A violent wind began to shake the entire tent structure as white firefly lights zoomed in, surrounding her. “What is happening to me?” Pain shot through her body as it began to contort and morph. Raine looked down, and she was growing and stretching as the white miniature lights swirled violently around her until, finally, her feet touched the ground. When the pain subsided a few moments later, she was as tall as Virtra, who wore a self-satisfied grin.

Three Things I Do Before I Write:

Since I am a morning person, I might have some pre-writing habits that might seem a bit strange to others. But whether it’s the morning, night, or after work, the most important thing is to write!

Here are my writing rituals:

  1. First, I set my alarm the night before and get up early the next morning to write before I go to work.
  2. The next thing I do is to make coffee. Once I have a cup in hand, I turn on my laptop and prepare to write.
  3. The last thing I do is to get out my outline. I used to be a pantser (write-by-the-seat-of-your-pants writer), but now I firmly believe in plotting. Having an outline to go by really helps to keep me on track and it makes my writing go much faster. No longer are the days when I sit down at a blank screen and stare, wondering what to write! Now, every time I sit down to write, I know exactly what to write and where I’m going in the story. If a brilliant idea hits me while I’m writing, I write it. But I use my outline to keep me on track. First, I write a paragraph outline. Then, I write a chapter-by-chapter outline. Now, I never sit down to write without an outline. It works!

I hope this helps you in your writing journey! As I said before, the most important thing is to write. In the words of Nike, just do it! Find the time and make a routine that works for you and stick with it! You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish. Happy writing!

~Theresa
