#RainbowSnippets August 19, 2017 – Photo Shoot – Snapshots

I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. From their description: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).” Pretty cool, eh? Don’t forget to “Like” my Facebook page and/or my Facebook profile while you’re over there checking out this fantastic group!

For this week’s snippet I’m going with a random scene from Photo Shoot, one of the short stories in my collection, Snapshots. The premise of the story is that Eddie has reluctantly consented to pose for a nude photo shoot for his best friend (and secret crush) Trent, who needs the pictures for a university photography class project.

A while back I posted a different snippet from this story that takes place shortly before this one. It’s not really needed for context, but if you’re interested, it’s here. If you’ve read the story (or even if you haven’t) and would like to read a continuation bonus scene, you can find that here.

This is told from Eddie’s 3rd-person POV, and Eddie is the first speaker:

“You don’t think that light’s too bright?”

Trent laughed again. “I’ll be playing around with different lighting, changing the angles and stuff. Just leave that part to me.”

Just drop the towel, Eddie. Just drop it. He forced his hand to open and tried to appear nonchalant as the towel fell to the floor.
