I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. From their description: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).” Pretty cool, eh? Don’t forget to “Like” my Facebook page and/or my Facebook profile while you’re over there checking out this fantastic group!
In celebration of its upcoming release in audiobook format, this week’s snippet is a scene from ’Til Death Do Us Part. This is from one of the early flashback scenes. It’s the start of the scene so no context is needed other than to say that Sam and Henry are merely business acquaintances at this point, and they’ve recently arrived in the Solomon Islands on a research trip.
This is told from Henry’s 3rd-person POV:
“Thanks, but no.”
That had been the polite but decisive and unquestionably short answer Sam had given Henry. They’d been eating dinner and Henry had worked up the nerve to invite Sam back to his room for a drink. Sam had blushed. Obviously he’d known that Henry was hoping for more than a drink. That’s what Sam had declined.
Goddammit.

’Til Death Do Us Part is currently available in both ebook and print formats. I can’t narrow down the precise release date for the audiobook, but the release blitz is scheduled for Thursday, 21-September. The target release date is “sometime shortly before that.”
I’ve received the audio files to proof, and I’m told it will take 10-14 days after the okay is given before the book is live.

Well, that sucks. Poor Henry. (I like that Sam blushed, though. That made me smile for some reason.)
Teehee…well I do call the blog “Stories That Make You Smile.” 😁
I like the punch of that last line.
Thank you! 💕
Looks like Henry had some work to do to convince Sam.
Best wishes for the audiobook production.
Just a bit. 😉
Thank you! 💗
Bless – I feel bad for laughing! 😉
Ha! Don’t feel bad, injecting a hint of humor was the goal! 😃
Aww. Maybe there will be a change of heart. 🙂
Knowing me, that’s probably a safe bet. 😘
Aww poor Henry
Heh…this little setback is the least of Henry’s worries in the book! 🙂
Poor Henry! 🙁
Maybe his luck will turn… 🙂
Given the blush, I wonder why he’s declining the invitation?
Good question. It gets answered in a different flashback scene. 😉
Iiih, exciting. Does the proof sound good? 🙂
Also, who’s arranging the blitz? Can’t find it at Signal Boost. I wanna sign up 🙂
Yes, I’m so excited about it! Yes, I love this guy’s voice. 😀
Yes, it’s Signal Boost. I contacted her toward the end of August to make arrangements for the whole series worth of blitzes/review tours. I imagine the requests will go out soon.
Does this mean I have to be a good friend and listen to the whole thing? 😁
And poke me if the requests go out and you don’t see me signing up. I’ve had problems with Rachel’s emails ending up in my spam-folder, even though I’ve added her as a contact. Very frustrating.
LOL, that would be quite a time commitment so I wouldn’t hold you to it!
I don’t know if emails have gone out yet or not. I hope so, since it’s been a week and a half, and the expected release date is now only about two weeks out. I hope a reasonable number of blogs sign on. I don’t see it on her website yet, though.
Poor Henry…
Alas, maybe Sam will come around?
