This is a precisely 100-word drabble told from Henry’s 1st-person POV:
I’d already promised myself I’d never again take Sam for granted, but as the water drained from the tub, I added creature comforts to that list. Like relaxing in my own bed, or deciding between a leisurely soak in the tub or a nice hot shower. And don’t get me started on my formerly underappreciated toothbrush.
“What are you thinking about?” Sam kissed my neck and placed a soft fluffy towel around my shoulders.
“Home sweet home!” I figured that and my mellow grin pretty much summed it up. I closed my eyes as he slowly rubbed my body dry.
Awww, that was a perfect use of my words. And now I feel like a privileged bitch for whining about being away from home for three weeks. Poor Henry didn’t have a toothbrush for FIVE years!! 😉
Hm. What words to choose for next week? Oh, I know. I’m subscribing to the word-of-the-day newsletter from Merriam-Webster (since I love words) and I got this word a few days ago that I liked: interstice. Isn’t it pretty? 🙂
Hahahaha…no, three weeks is a long time, too! Goodness, I’m going to have to look that one up. Yes, it is pretty, though! 😄💕
