#RainbowSnippets 7-July-2018 – The Best-Laid Plans

I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. From their description: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).” Pretty cool, eh? Don’t forget to “Like” my Facebook page and/or my Facebook profile while you’re over there checking out this fantastic group!

I’m snipping from The Best-Laid Plans, an unedited Work in Progress. This story continues The Contingency Plan. I’ve decided the good princes could use a little challenge on the way to the HEA we imagined for them at the end of their introductory short story. I’ve got three snippets scheduled giving the opening lines from the new story.

Told from Prince Efren’s 3rd-person POV.

This Week’s Snippet:

The Best-Laid Plans – 7-July-2018

Crown Prince Efren of Zioneven masked his inner scowl when Gideon Bailey, Zioneven’s ambassador assigned to Sheburat, signaled to him with a subtle tilt of his head. It was early in the morning after Efren’s wedding to Prince Marcelo of Sheburat—no…now of Zioneven. Efren and Marcelo had just entered the great hall of Sheburat’s castle to break their fast before beginning the long journey home to Zioneven.

Efren turned to Marcelo. The younger man’s long, soft, strawberry blond curls shone in the early morning light slanting through an east-facing window. “My darling, please excuse me for a moment.”

My sweet short story, The Contingency Plan is available at distributors everywhere (Books2Read Universal Buy-Link | Publisher/JMS Books).

If you’ve already read and enjoyed that one, you might also be interested in the bonus scenes (the opening scenes retold from Prince Efren’s POV).

    1. Hey, don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just telling the tale of what’s happening to them. I have no control. 😉
