What I #amreading: Private Truths by C.B. Lewis

My favorite lines this week:

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿

Technically, it wasn’t begging if you were wearing a suit and tie and holding a glass of some kind of fizzy booze while you did it.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿

He was considering putting some kind of product in his hair when he realized two things: one was that he didn’t own any product and wouldn’t know how to use it if he did, and the other was that he was dolling himself up as if he was going on a date.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿

Jack had been on a roller coaster at Blackpool a few years back. Right now, he felt like he was sitting on it again, all of it out of his control, strapped to a chair and waiting for the drop.

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿

“I see you met Kitty.”

Jack’s heart skipped a beat.

Edward.

He kept his eyes on his plate, filling it up. “Charming woman. Reminds me of a jackal.”

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿

He was sitting on the edge of the couch when Edward came back through a few minutes later. Edward didn’t say anything. He just sat down on the arm of the couch and laid a hand on Jack’s shoulder. He didn’t say a word, but somehow, it helped.

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿

He pressed his forehead harder against his hands and tried to even out his breathing. The tension was spreading up through his back until his shoulder ached with a sharp, stabbing pain.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿

Jack picked up his mug, wrapping his hands around it. “You get in trouble for thinking with your knob often?”
