She is under the control of an evil madman, Caspar, who keeps her family captive. He sends her to Valinor to abduct the Empress Akacia. When she arrives, she is taken back by Akacia’s beauty and when the Empress fights back, Everleigh realizes she has met her match.

☆ Guest Post ☆

What are you passionate about these days?

In the past couple of years, I have become more involved in the LGBT+ community. As I’ve discovered things about myself, my children, and my friends, I have come to realize that sexuality is fluid. I decided to write a book series with two main characters who were female and fall in love and many other secondary characters have different sexualities. It’s not a coming out story. It’s a story about the future where labels don’t exist, where love is love, and people are not discriminated against because of who they love.

I signed up to volunteer with a LGBT+ community center and have enjoyed working a variety of events with them. I hope to continue to do this. It benefits them and gives me great satisfaction that I’m helping. I’m changing the future.

One of my children came out to me recently. It didn’t surprise me as we had talked about it before, and actually she didn’t even announce her sexuality. She just said she liked girls and wanted to marry a girl someday. I hugged her and told her as long as she was happy, I was happy. That is all I want for my kids, family and friends, neighbors, and even everyone in the world. I want people to be able to say something like that and not get a jaw dropping “get out of my house” response or get dropped off at a camp to be “fixed.” I want our children to grow up knowing being sexually fluid is okay and that it is never okay to tease or bully someone about their sexuality. Children should be taught love and kindness not hate.

I am passionate about this topic because I don’t want to see my daughter get hurt. I don’t want someone to bully her over her sexuality. I want to be her cheerleader, no matter what she does. I will buy rainbow Mickey Mouse ears and bring her to Pride. I will support her in any way I can. Maybe some of that stems from having a father who didn’t support me in the ways he should have. My daughter will know love and acceptance.

It’s a huge topic in our world today. Who can use what bathroom? Who can get married? If I can help just one person out there, I will be thrilled.
