Happy 2nd Bookversary to King Kong vs. The Skinny Pirate!

I’ve got three bookversaries packed into an eight-day stretch. The first up is the two-year bookversary for King Kong vs. The Skinny Pirate, a FREE short story.

Blaine is a well-dressed, high priced attorney, and George is a hairy mountain of an auto mechanic. This odd couple meets up one evening on a slow night at a bar. The pickings are slim. Slim enough for these opposites to eyeball each other and ask themselves just how bad they want to get laid.

Pleasantly surprised by the evening’s outcome, Blaine is faced with a dilemma. Should he throw caution to the wind and pursue George, or steer clear of that unexpected distraction to his carefully structured life?

  1. How very clever! “Bookversary” is a marvelous word. I’m heading off to AMZ to read about a piratical lawyer (is there any other kind?). Looking forward to the other celebrations…either to buy/read or re-read.

    1. LOL. Thanks! I wish I could say I coined the “word” since it’s so fun, but I can’t. I’ve seen many use it before. 😀

      1. Quick note: Sr. Momento struck again. When I went to AMZ I found I’d bought the book in November of 2017. Re-read it today and found it delightful, as I’m sure I did the first time around.

        1. Hahaha…I do the same thing. Sadly I buy from a variety of sources and often don’t notice I’m duplicating until it’s too late!

Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 💞 🏴‍☠️ 🥃

  2. Only 2nd Bookversary for these two?! hehehe
I came upon them in 2015, or so my files say, and the feel-good vibes of the story lingers still. Just now, seeing you mention it, makes me smile.
    Thank you for this.

    Congratulations!

    1. Thanks!

It’s the 2nd Bookversary for this edition’s release, anyway. The very first edition was in the Like Magnets We Attract anthology in April, 2009. After that I self-published a mildly reedited 2nd edition (that’s probably what you have). This 3rd edition got a more significant overhaul (same story but with wording tweaks) for inclusion in Snapshots (a collection of short stories) and got released as a free single to help promote the collection.

If you like the story and have the old edition, you might want to download this new version since it’s free anyway. 🙂
