Treadmill Goals/Tracking
- Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
- Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
- Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
- Distance 1-2 miles per day
- Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

When Pippin’s independence is triggered, can Buck and Pippin trust in the love they’ve found?

Simon is a romance writer, after all, so he’s going to make this a perfect scene, and a morning to remember.

How can Samson get Linus back in time for Valentine’s Day without doing something cliched, which he knows his beloved dislikes?

(FREE at publisher’s) They want only the freedom to pursue their newly awakened sentience away from human interference.

When Simone’s father finally meets Eros — or Eric, as he prefers to be known — matters take a twist none of them were expecting!

(FREE) This short story introduces the world and characters in A.L. Lester’s novel, Lost in Time.
My favorite lines this week…
✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ – His Steady Heart by Nell Iris (This was longer than I remembered from beta reading, so it probably should have had 2-3 days allocated, but I already had the week planned out, so I stayed on the treadmill double time, finished it after, and will just give an extra-long (and sweet) snippet 💞)
“Thank you, Ashley,” he whispers.
I grunt a sound that means “you’re welcome,” and he interprets it correctly because his mouth breaks into a smile.
Suddenly, it’s too much. His warm eyes overflowing with fondness and his wide sunny smile make my chest ache. So, I stand, turn my back at him, and rinse my mug. “I need to take a shower and hit the hay.”
“Of course.”
“See you ’round.”
“Sure. G’night.”
I shuffle out of the kitchen without looking at him. But when I pass the couch, I notice one of the books I bought lying open with the cover facing up on the coffee table.
I stop and look at it for a second before I continue down the hallway. Not until I close the door behind me do I allow myself to smile.
The sight of that book made the disagreement in the kitchen worth everything.
✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ – A Leather and Tea Morning by K.L. Noone
They woke the same way, the following morning.
Or at least Ben did; he lived with a person who often didn’t awaken until several minutes after freshly brewed tea had been waved under his nose. He wondered on occasion how Simon had ever survived morning classes at that starched-collar boarding school. Unsolved mystery of life, that one. But not one he minded living with. For all the mornings.
He lay unmoving for a moment, appreciating the view. Watched his husband sleep, face squashed into the pillow in a fantastically inelegant fashion, hair sticking up in mischievous night-spikes. Simon asleep looked like dawn, he decided: pale sunshine curls and fair skin and careless contentment, a miniature masterpiece painted in gold that’d collided with a pillow and learned how to very quietly snore.
✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ – Forever Yours by Kassandra Lea
Linus swiped a hand across his eyes, banishing the depressing thoughts. At least for the time being. He pushed his sleeves down, a shiver passing over his body. He took a deep breath, exhaling it slowly, staring out at the serene water. The surface of the pond wasn’t entirely frozen and the center sparkled in the mid-morning sunlight. A handful of geese bobbed on the water; should they have all been down south? Linus melted against the wood of the bench, the tension easing from his body.
✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ – Slither by T.A. Creech
Selati did the only thing he could think of, the only thing that might possibly ease Aleledai’s mind, if simply for the moment. He pulled Aleledai into his arms again, tucking his mate as close as he was able. “I know your fears, my one, and I share them.” The puff of ragged breath against his collar bone told Selati that he was right. “But if it will help, say them.”
✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ – Aim Higher by JL Merrow
Dad’s just about looking normal colour again when there’s this knock on the door frame, and we look up and Eric’s there. His wings are dragging on the floor, and they’ve picked up bits of fluff and an old sticker I dropped.
“Um,” he says. “Simone? Maybe I should have a word with your dad?”
✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ – Finder’s Keeper’s by Rob Rosen
A man sat crouched on the ground in front of me, a smile on his face and the penny held firmly in his grasp. “Finders keepers,” he proclaimed while rubbing his temple, wincing as he did so. “Sorry,” he quickly added.
I laughed, despite the dull throbbing in my noggin. “Guess we both need all the luck we can get, huh?” I asked, standing up to offer him a hand, helping him back to his feet.
✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ – The Gate by A.L. Lester
He picked up the book at the top of the pile on the floor by the armchair. It was large, leather bound and heavy, with rough-cut pages and bits of paper in Arthur’s neat hand sticking out from between them as bookmarks or notes. Idly he opened it. It was well-thumbed. It fell open at one of the pages Arthur had marked.
Oh, I loved the snippets. 😍Three in particular are must-reads for me now.💖
Yay! It was a nice batch of short stories! 💖 And today I finally get to see what the Incorrigible and the Count are up to! Woo! 🎉
And a marvellous mix of mood & tone too, it seemed! 😻 Aww…thank you. So much. I hope you likes it.🌹❤🌹
I know I’ll love it. I just finished day 1, and it’s off to a great start! ❤️
Aww…thank you! 💗🌺💗
😍
I’m sorry for making you stay so long on the treadmill!! Can’t really blame you for thinking it was shorter, though, because usually I write pretty short 😂
And I’m in love with K.L Noone’s use of language. I mean: “Simon asleep looked like dawn, he decided: pale sunshine curls and fair skin and careless contentment, a miniature masterpiece painted in gold that’d collided with a pillow and learned how to very quietly snore.”
*swoon*
LOL, it was good for me. And yes! I love the way K.L. Noone turns a word. Just lovely!
