Once again, I’m snipping from my time travel novel that was released last week, When Are You?
This is a random snippet that takes place after Oscar has gone missing, and Leo and Vinnie have figured out a few things about how they can (must?) find him. They are, in fact, at the location where the anomaly first appeared, scoping and planning with Leo’s former military buddies.
From Leo’s 3rd-person POV:
This week’s snippet:
“That’s not…” Danny scrunched his brow and leaned to the side as he looked up the path.
“Go!” Vinnie clutched Leo’s biceps.
Leo blinked and looked quickly from the uncertainty evident in Danny’s eyes, to the mix of terror and determination in Vinnie’s, to what they were both looking at.
No doubt Leo’s eyes then mirrored Vinnie’s, because standing here actually facing that which had been merely their theoretical future, he was paralyzed by dread even as the front part of his brain tried to kick his ass into gear.
“Go! Go! Go!” Vinnie’s grip tightened painfully on his arm and propelled him forward. Instinctively, Leo followed alongside. He barely had time to register the waviness of the air before plowing through it.

Thank you! 💖 I’m glad you noticed that, because it was a very deliberate choice (to underline Vinnie’s determination rather than make it look like Leo was actually reluctant…he’s not…it’s just a very hard thing to make yourself do when the moment comes).
