Camp NaNoWriMo

With an admittedly meager goal, I’ve signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo, which starts today. I’ll be working on Change of Plans, the final book in my series that started with The Contingency Plan, and continued with The Best-Laid Plans.

I’ve already started the book. I’m just over 12k words into it, and although I’m not a “planner” to the point where I have a detailed outline, I have figured out basically what’s going to be happening the rest of the book. So it’s just a matter of bringing the ideas to life now.

It’s been a while since I’ve worked on it, so this past week I reread both of the already published books in the series and what I’ve written so far on the WiP.

Wish me luck! ❤️

  1. Good luck dear Addison🍀🍀🍀 12,000 words is a great start. Yay…I’m so chuffed we’re to be treated to a third installment 🥰

    1. Thank you! LOL…so am I. For the longest time I just wondered what I could do to give them an interesting third story. I’m just glad I came up with something. 😁

        1. Thank you so much! It’s very motivating to know someone is looking forward to the story. ❤️❤️❤️

  2. You go, girl! *snicker* (Being of a certain age, and you being comparatively a mere chee-ild, I get to say that.) Looking forward to the book.

    1. LOL. Thank you!!! More like I’m mere months away from hitting a decade milestone that’s always felt to me like it’s the very definition of “old.” I’d say I hope to redefine that, but you already have! 😁❤️

How are you faring through the pandemic? I was lucky enough to score a first dose off a pharmacy’s waiting list (use it or waste it last minute call because of appointment no-shows) of the Moderna vaccine (along with my daughter and DiL), and we’re scheduled for dose two, tomorrow! 🎉

      1. Faring fairly well. My second Pfizer shot is a week away. “The Cooking Mage & The Parchment Prankster” is being split into two books, since it just hit 218K about 10 days ago…with a prompt writing block thereafter!!! *le sigh* But at 2 a.m. yesterday morning, I woke up, turned on low light (can’t disturb the dogs!!!) and wrote out the start of an actual short story (GASP!!), with a working title of “A Tale of the Devil’s Horse.” A “devil horse” that no bronc buster can ride in a rodeo, and the prize for riding him is now at a million bucks. I’m even thinking of entering it into Baen’s fantasy story contest (8K max) even though I don’t think it’s remotely close to anything they’re going to be interested in. Oops…that did become a soapbox reply to a short question. Sorry about that. *rueful smile*

        1. Holy moly! I’ve never hit 100k, let alone 200k. Congrats on that. ❤️ No harm in entering, even if it goes nowhere, although as much as I love your stories, I’m sure it’ll do well. And I adore the titles you come up with!!!!
