I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. From their description: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).” Pretty cool, eh? Don’t forget to “Like” my Facebook page and/or my Facebook profile while you’re over there checking out this fantastic group!
One more snippet to celebrate the anniversary month of the release of ’Til Death Do Us Part. This is from one of the flashback scenes and is told from Henry’s 3rd-person POV. For context, Sam has just asked Henry to meet his family, and Henry has expressed some concern at the prospect. This snippet continues from where I left off last week (ending with Henry saying, “I’m just nervous. You know how things are with my family, right?”), so Sam is the first speaker, below. (We don’t need to count those 1, 2, and 3 word sentences do we?)
[Sam] “Sure, but I’ve told you mine isn’t like that.” [Henry] “I know. Maybe it’s one of those irrational fears. Me and meeting families is like you and flying on airplanes.”
Sam snickered. “Okay, okay. I get it. Remember, though, I don’t let it actually keep me from flying.”
Henry sighed with faux drama, bringing up a hand to clutch his non-existent pearls. “Just say when, and I’ll be there.”
Henry and Sam Miller-Greene are living the dream. They love their careers — which afford each of them opportunities to travel to exotic locations — they love their home, Sam’s caring family, and each other. They disagree on the subject of adoption, but are fully committed to each other in marriage … ’Til Death Do Us Part.
The dream is shattered when Henry’s plane crashes, and he’s presumed dead. But four people — Henry, two other men, and a child — survive undetected on a remote, small, and insignificant island. Will Sam and Henry’s love be able to survive as well?
Henry fights to endure in harsh conditions, never knowing when disaster will strike. Sam struggles with his loss, but with help moves on with his life. Will Sam be able to put aside his new love when he reunites with Henry?
As with all my books at JMS Books, LLC, ’Til Death Do Us Part is available for #FREE download with your #KindleUnlimited subscription. Follow this link for more information, additional buy-links, and links to the reviews referenced in the image, below.

Love the humor, and the touch of foreshadowing.
Thank you! ♡
Lol. Jerome’s over protective mother in my WIP actually clutches her pearls. But she’s posh and has real—and not imaginary—pearls 😀
Hahaha! I can’t wait to read a pearl-clutch scene with actual pearls! 💗
I don’t know…I think meeting families is way scarier than flying! LOL
True. The odds of it going bad are certainly larger with families. 😏
I agree. I was scared to death when I met my hubby’s mother 25 years ago. And on airplane’s there’s alcohol. First time I met my MIL I didn’t get alcohol 😀
ROFL! My in-laws don’t even keep alcohol in their home, so yeah, that wasn’t gonna happen for me, either.
Meeting the family is always stressful, poor guy.
Indeed! Even under the best circumstances. 🙂
Bwahahahaha “non-existent pearls”. Great snippet, Addison. 🙂
*snickers* Thank you! ♡
Love the non-existent pearls! ;D
Hehe. Meeting the family is always a 50/50 thing, in my view.
At least he can still smile despite his trepidation. 🙂
No doubt Henry knows in his heart that Sam’s right.
I love the clutching of non-existent pearls.
🙂 Thank you!
