Happy Halloween!
One of my earliest short stories, Moving On, is set on Halloween. It was originally published in 2008 at Torquere Press. Earlier this year it was reworked and reedited for inclusion in my Snapshots collection of shorts:
Blurb
On Halloween, Graeme accompanies the love of his life, Brandt, to the annual costume party. This year, though, Brandt isn’t dancing with Graeme, he’s dancing with a handsome stranger, and Graeme couldn’t be happier. On the most mysterious night of the year Graeme has one chance to give his beloved the best gift of all and he makes the most of it, from the first dance to the final farewell.
Ooooh, thanks for reminding me. I’m definitely gonna have to reread that story, it’s fabulous.
Happy Halloween to you. Are you wearing an elaborate costume? 🙂 I might be the only one in the world not a fan of Halloween. First of all: Swedes don’t celebrate. Or at least we didn’t when I was a kid. It’s grown in popularity these last years (because we copy everything you do in the US so now kids are trick or treating. But not so much egging houses I think 🙂 ). Secondly, I don’t like playing dress up. Costume parties are NOT for me. Especially not if I’m supposed to dress up as a skeleton. No thank you. AND I don’t eat candy anymore, so I can’t even celebrate by stuffing myself full of chocolate 🙂
Aww, thank you!
I’ve got a costume (renaissance peasant woman) that I made years ago, but I doubt I’ll put it on to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters this year. I’m not in the mood. I guess dress-up in general isn’t my thing, either. LOL…I’d make a poor skeleton, too! I’m trying to cut back on sweets and stuff that’s not so healthy, but I haven’t quite eliminated it yet. 😀
