I’ve joined the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. From their description: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).” Pretty cool, eh? Don’t forget to “Like” my Facebook page and/or my Facebook profile while you’re over there checking out this fantastic group!
This will probably be my last snippet from this thread of The Recruit, a 21k-word novella that’s now available at JMS Books (and all the usual distributors).
For context, Phillip has been selected for recruit by the local vampire faction. He was approached by Albert while walking in the park, and an offer to join the vampires’ ranks has been extended.

Told from Phillip’s 3rd-person POV.

“Albright does not allow her imagination to be confined by tropes in The Recruit and it is a enjoyable story that I would recommend.”
—Kirsty, Joyfully Jay
“The author has taken the same old staid vampire mythos/legend/trope/whatever and turned it inside out, upside down, put it through a complete overhaul, and then wove it back together into a fresh, new, original, fantastic, fascinating and definitely different tale. I was completely hooked from cover to cover.”
