Treadmill Week 95 & What I #amreading – Falling into Love by Kris T. Bethke & Nell Iris

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

My favorite lines this week:

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ Mowed, but did a timed read anyway. 😁

I took a deep breath and filled my lungs with crisp air, imagining how my blood transported the air molecules into every cell of my body, rejuvenating me from within. Birds chirped and trilled, and the ground vegetation rustled as if we were being followed by wildlife who didn’t want to be seen. What would it be? A rabbit? A huge rat? Week, I hoped it wasn’t that.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿

“I swear, I’ll even tone it down. No pink or sparkles or anything.” Everett gave me a cheeky grin, and I had to work not to smile in response.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿

He sucked in a breath, then let it out in a rush of words. “Was this a date?”

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿

Something flashed in his light blue eyes that I couldn’t quite name, but his pleased smile made butterflies dance in my stomach. I loved the way he looked at me, and I wanted him to keep doing it.

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿

Letting my eyes drift closed, I ignored my inner sensible voice that pointed out it would be better if I ate, showered, and went to  bed because I would regret it in the morning if I fell asleep on the couch. I groaned. I was so darned tired of my practical brain. Why didn’t it come with an OFF button, so I could silence the nonstop obsessing over all things big and small?

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿

Everett and he gave me a goofy grin. “I keep track of things, honey. Don’t worry your pretty little red head about it.”

It’s auburn,” I mumbled as everyone else laughed.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿

Jackson lifted the treat to his nose and sniffed. His brown eyes, usually so guarded and on alert, warmed, and one corner of his mouth turned up. It wasn’t a full smile, but the most smile-like expression he’d ever given me, and I’d take it.
