Treadmill Week 98 & What I #amreading – Get the Guy Box Set by J.D. Walker

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

My favorite lines this week:

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ – (A-dork-able)

“Nice to meet you,” I replied, shaking his hand in a daze until I saw the slight frown on his face. I quickly let go and mumbled an apology before turning to tend to my hot chocolate.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ (A-dork-able)

I opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of Perrier. I carried the sparkling water to the wide window that gave a great view of the city—a city full of people with loved ones and secure in their happiness. When would I ever have that? I hoped I wouldn’t have to get cats when I turned forty. I was allergic.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ (And This Is Ed)

My other used to say, “Forget that crap about limes and lemonade. Oranges are much sweeter!” Whether or not I’ll ever fully understand that gem of wisdom, I simply went my own way, did my job well, and sidestepped the idiots whenever I could.

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ (And This Is Ed)

My cat, Voldemort—he who shall be named, though what was the point when he rarely listened to me?—greeted me at the door, then promptly fell on his side so I could give him a belly rub. Right, must do the Dark Lord’s bidding.

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ (Hate to Love You)

“For your information, I am an old dude with a stick up my butt.” The snicker beside me from Rio, who I didn’t realize had followed me outside, didn’t help. I elbowed him in the stomach.

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ (Nowhere But Home)

“No, it’s my fault,” he replied, flashing dimples and sweetness and things that would make someone call for a cleanup in Aisle 6 when I punched him. Or threw up.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ (To Lift My Sole)

I rolled my eyes, “You’re dreaming, Lance.”

He feigned shock. “You called me by my first name. I like it. See? We’re getting closer already.”

I had to press my lips together to suppress a smile. The train arrived at my destination. “I assume I’ll be seeing you tomorrow, as is your habit?”

“Count on it.” He grinned at me.
