Treadmill Goals/Tracking
- Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
- Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
- Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
- Distance 1-2 miles per day
- Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

What I #amreading: Remy & Lane Complete Series by J.M. Snyder
Week 100…woot! I figure it’s appropriate to celebrate this treadmill milestone by reading a book by the owner of JMS Books, since I owe so much that that publisher for helping me get back into writing after I took my long hiatus!
Both books in the Remy and Lane series for one low price! Contains the stories:
Just the Three of Us: Remy McIntosh Remy is looking forward to a holiday vacation at a secluded cabin with his lover, Lane Anders. He’s planned the perfect getaway for just the two of them. But when his ex-wife changes her Christmas plans at the last minute, he has to bring along his 8 year old son, Braden, too. Braden doesn’t know Lane, or even that his father is gay. What will happen to the romantic holiday Remy planned for so long?
Hawaiian Wedding: Remy and Lane are back to plan their Christmas wedding! Because their state doesn’t allow same-sex marriage, they travel to Hawaii to plan the perfect wedding. But things go wrong from the start. Remy doesn’t know whether to laugh at his troubles or cry with frustration. Will they get to say “I do” on an island beach, or should they elope?

My favorite lines this week:
Note, the two books in the set are both full-sized stories, so I only finished the first one, Just the Three of Us, this week. So all the quotes are from that.
✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿
“No, I would—I mean, yes, that’s…” Remy sighed. Had dating been this hard before his marriage? He honestly couldn’t remember. Taking a deep breath, he said simply, “Yes. I’d like that.”
✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿
“They’re griffins, Dad.” Braden gave him a look over one shoulder as if he shouldn’t known better. “Like from Harry Potter.”
Remy didn’t know what a griffin was, and all he knew of Harry Potter was that the kid wore glasses and had performed in a Broadway play where he had to stand onstage buck naked with a horse.
Of course, he didn’t tell Braden that. “A griffin, yeah, right. That was my second guess.”
✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿
Into his food, Braden mumbled something that might have been yes, or might have been go fuck yourself. Lane wasn’t sure which and, given his demeanor, thought maybe the latter option was the most likely one.
✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿
Remy stuck out his tongue. “I get it. You’re supervising, is that it?”
“It’s what I do best,” Lane joked.
With a laugh, Remy teased, “Oh, so tonight you’re going to make me do all the work while you just sit back and relax, is that what you’re saying?
Beside him, Braden said, “I’m helping out, too, Dad. You’re not doing it all.”
Lane snorted as Remy’s double entendre came back to bit him.
✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿
“I don’t think it was just the wine,” he muttered as Remy stroked his hair. “I think it was those damn SpaghettiOs.”
His lover laughed. “I ate them and I feel fine.”
“Yeah, well.” Lane sighed. “I have a more refined palette than you do. When I burp, I can still taste those weiners.”
✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿
“I have all I need right here.” Remy caught a fistful of Lane’s shirt and reeled him in. Lane came willingly, and their next kiss tasted like hops and cold beer. Wrapping his arms around his lover, Remy murmured, “All I want for Christmas is you.”
From the table, Braden made a sound of disgust. “You already have him,” he muttered. “You’re supposed to want things you don’t have for Christmas.”
✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿
Staring into Lane’s pale blue, almost colorless eyes, Remy murmured, “I love you. I wanted to ask—”
“I wanted to ask you, too,” Lane said with a smile. He held up the small box with his name on the tag. So I guess this answers both our questions.”
From the floor, Braden sighed. “What questions? Aren’t you even going to open them?”
