Treadmill Goals/Tracking
- Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
- Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
- Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
- Distance 1-2 miles per day
- Read the chosen book. I’m officially modifying my original rule of not reading the book-of-the-week off-treadmill. I’m usually going to look at length and try to divide it up somewhat evenly per day, even if that means either closing that book early (if it’s short) or continuing after (if it’s long).

What I’m Reading

What I #amreading: Hearts and Hazelnuts by Kris T. Bethke
Mechanic Jordan Hart is down on his luck, so he gladly accepts a temporary job servicing tractors at a hazelnut farm in Newberg, Oregon. He doesn’t expect to be attracted to his boss, Beckett Shaw. Still working on embracing his bisexuality, he’s reluctant to start anything, but Beckett’s gentle coaxing convinces Jordan to take a risk.
Beckett has vowed not to get involved with anyone until he can restore the Shaw Farms name as a leader in hazelnuts. But there’s no denying his interest in the shy mechanic who shows up at his door. Just as they begin to find a balance, outside forces threaten to tear them apart. Job opportunities force Jordan out of the Portland area he loves so much. But when danger comes too close to Beckett, Jordan must decide if he can follow his heart to the Willamette Valley … and straight back to Beckett.
My favorite lines this week…
✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ (Jordan’s POV)
Jordan nodded, still not looking, and he completely ignored the warmth of Beckett’s fingers as they slid over his. As soon as he could, Jordan took a slight step away. Being so close to Becket was a little unnerving.
✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ (Beckett’s POV)
A small part of him wished he could have met Jordan Hart under different circumstances—out at a club or a bar, in a restaurant, a bookstore…something—where they could have struck up a conversation and Beckett could openly flirt with the gorgeous man. Find out if Jordan was interested. Maybe hook up, or date even. But that was out of the question now.
✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ (Beckett’s POV)
He cut a slice from the cake and used his fingers to gently lift and place it on a plate. It was an automatic gesture to lift his thumb, stick it in his mouth, and suck off a bit of stray frosting. But when Jordan sucked in a fast breath and his pupils dilated as Beck watched, he had the final clue he needed. He took a deep breath and then took a big chance.
✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ (Jordan’s POV)
The way the morning sun lit up the valley made Jordan’s breath catch. And then he saw Beckett, mug cradled in his hands as he leaned against the railing with the gold washing over him as the sun finished its ascent.
✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ (Beckett’s POV)
Jordan didn’t have any more tattoos. Beckett was very thorough in his investigation. He inspected every single inch of Jordan’s skin, just to make sure.
Twice.
✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ (Beckett’s POV)
“Hey.” Beck gently poked Jordan in the side.
Jordan offered him a shaky smile while he kept his gaze on the floor. “Hey.”
“Wanna talk to me?”
Jordan didn’t say anything for a long time, but he slid his fingers up into Beck’s hair and rubbed his scalp. Finally he blew out a breath.
✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ (Beckett’s POV)
Jordan ran right into him, wrapped thick arms around his waist, and squeezed him tightly. Beck was shocked, even when Jordan stepped back and reached up to cup Beck’s face.
