TREADMILL Week 183 & What I #AmReading – Will & Patrick Serial 1-6 by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book. I’m officially modifying my original rule of not reading the book-of-the-week off-treadmill. I’m usually going to look at length and try to divide it up somewhat evenly per day, even if that means either closing that book early (if it’s short) or continuing after (if it’s long).

What I #amreading: Will & Patrick Serial 1-6 by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

Join the fun in this soapy serial as Will & Patrick’s fake marriage turns into true love! Written by best-selling author Leta Blake and newcomer Alice Griffiths!

Episode One: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married

After a drunken night of hot sex in Vegas, strangers Will Patterson and Dr. Patrick McCloud wake up married. A quickie divorce is the most obvious way out—unless you’re the heir of a staunchly Catholic mafia boss with a draconian position on the sanctity of marriage. Throw their simmering attraction into the mix and all bets are off!

Episode Two: Will & Patrick Meet the Family

Meeting the family is challenging for every new couple. But for Will and Patrick, the awkward family moments only grow more hilarious–and painful–when they must hide the truth of their predicament from the people they care about most. Throw in the sexual tension flaring between them and you’ve got a recipe for madcap laughs and surprisingly heartwarming feels.

Episode Three: Will & Patrick Do the Holidays

A couple’s first holiday season is always a special time. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve are magical when you’re in love. Too bad Will and Patrick’s marriage is a sham and they’re only faking their affection for each other. Or are they? Sparks fly in this episode of the Wake Up Married serial. Will the sexual tension between Will and Patrick finally explode in a needy night of passion? Or will they continue to deny their feelings?

Episode Four: Will & Patrick Fight Their Feelings

Will and Patrick have embraced adding hot sexy-times to their fake marriage, but as their emotions deepen, they confront whether or not they want to be more than friends-with-benefits. The heat is high (and occasionally kinky) as Will and Patrick struggle to accept their mutual affection.

Episode Five: Will & Patrick Meet the Mob

Patrick has finally accepted that he’s in love with Will, but his newfound determination to do something about that runs up against his father-in-law’s mobster plans. Will must face the truth about his family before he can fully come to terms with his feelings for Patrick. And Patrick has to decide if this whackadoodle world is something he truly wants to be part of forever.

Episode Six: Will & Patrick’s Happy Ending

Sure, Will and Patrick are in love now, but they weren’t when they got married in Vegas. For Patrick, that’s no problem, but Will can’t shake his doubts that a relationship started through coercion can ever become the real deal. Since the Molinaro crime family has reversed their position on divorce, Will and Patrick have a chance to rectify their drunken mistake. But is divorce the right choice for them?

My favorite lines this week…

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ – Episode 1: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married

“Oh my God.” Will finally snaps, his voice rising hysterically. “We don’t want to be married anymore! What do you not understand about that?”

Joe shrugs patiently. Clearly this isn’t the first time he’s dealt with a hysterical bridegroom wanting out of his vows without consequence. “Them’s the breaks. Speaking of, it’s my lunch break. Oh, and just in case you thought you might come back later and try this on a different clerk? I’ve put a little note next to your names in the computer.” Joe winks at them.

“Why, thank you, Joe,” Patrick says. “You’re an ass.”

Joe grins good-naturedly. “You should get some diaper rash cream for your husband’s ass. It’ll help with the ache.” He winks again and puts up a CLOSED sign.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ – Episode 2: Will & Patrick Meet the Family

Patrick holds his hands up in mock surrender. Will’s obviously on edge, and Patrick can’t blame him. There’s probably nothing quite like the sweaty, nervous feeling of bringing home a stranger you had a lot of filthy sex with and introducing him to your mother as your brand-new husband.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ – Episode 3: Will & Patrick Do the Holidays

“You do that puddin’-pop, and I’ll be there with a PowerPoint presentation. It’ll consist of four words over and over. ‘Do your damn job.’ If pushed, I might throw in a ‘Don’t make me do it for you’ as a closing argument.”

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ – Episode 4: Will & Patrick Fight Their Feelings

“Puddin’-pop, you were there. Do you doubt you’re the best lay I’ve ever had?”

“The best?”

“Unequivocally.”

Will grins and eats some more of his cottage cheese on toast, joy rising up like the sun on his face. “You too. I mean, you’re the best I’ve had.”

Shocking. Patrick wants an award for not saying that out loud. He reaches out and takes hold of Will’s fingers. “I like being with you. I like what we’re doing and I don’t want to talk about it.”

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ – Episode 5: Will & Patrick Meet the Mob

“Don’t make me test you myself.” Patrick filings back the covers and stalks to the bathroom in his underwear. Will rolls his eyes but grabs his kit and quickly tests. Over the sound of piss hitting water, Patrick calls out, “Well? What’s the number?”

“Ninety-eight. Calm your tits.”

Patrick comes out, arms crossed over his chest and hair sticking up everywhere. “Calm my tits? Calm your tits.”

Will indicates his nipples. “What? Check ’em out. Not even a little bit pointy.”

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ – Episode 6: Will & Patrick’s Happy Ending

“…Sometimes people need different things to be their best selves. Some need to travel and meet new people, like Roy. Some need to stay home and hold down the fort, like me.” Kevin grips his shoulder and shakes. “You know you’re with the right person when they let you do what you gotta do to feel free.”

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ – Epilogue

Jenny laughs and tosses the single throw pillow Will had bought for their bed at Patrick. The room is exactly the way they want it: a bed, two nightstands, a TV on the wall, and a chest of drawers. Otherwise, it’s bare. Ready to be filled with memories they make, as Will says, or ready to host their personal Sex Olympics, as Patrick says.

    1. LOL…it’s a serial, and broken into different stories that could be read at different times. 😁 Plus, I wish I had a word count instead…page counts can vary widely for a particular word count. 700 seems longer than what this took to read it.
