TREADMILL Week 184 & What I #AmReading – Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy by JL Merrow & Josephine Myles + Always You by Nell Iris

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book. I’m officially modifying my original rule of not reading the book-of-the-week off-treadmill. I’m usually going to look at length and try to divide it up somewhat evenly per day, even if that means either closing that book early (if it’s short) or continuing after (if it’s long).

What I’m Reading

Note: Although I will try to avoid them, my weekly reading snippets may or may not contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.

What I #amreading: Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy by JL Merrow & Josephine Myles

Good men come in threes!

Three’s definitely not a crowd in this trio of contemporary erotic male/male/male ménages with a very British flavour from gay romance favourites Josephine Myles and JL Merrow.

Let your fantasies run wild as you take in the fit bodies down at the gym, or enjoy a very special birthday present from a loving partner. And even a trip to the dentist can be enjoyable with the right sort of distraction!

These stories have all been previously published, but are now available exclusively in this anthology.

What I #amreading: Always You by Nell Iris

Thom Novak feels like a walking cliché: the gay guy desperately in love with his straight best friend, Lee. But he’s willing to keep his feelings hidden, to do whatever it takes, as long as they stay friends forever.

Lee Conway loves sharing an apartment with Thom, his best friend since birth, and would be happy doing it for the rest of his life … no matter his current girlfriend’s opinion on the matter. But he’s never been known for being in contact with his emotions.

When something happens to upset the status quo, Lee pulls away. Has Lee learned how Thom feels about him? Will it mean the end of their friendship? Or is there another reason Lee needs time to think? A more … hopeful reason?

My favorite lines this week…

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ – Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy – Kit Bag by JL Merrow

Damn. And pretty soon they’d be finishing up and heading for the showers. Kit gave a little sigh. What he wouldn’t have given to go down there with them. He could have offered to scrub their backs, or give them a really thorough clean with his tongue… Sometimes, Kit wished he’d been born earlier. Say, two thousand years, give or take. He could have been a Roman bath house slave. He’d have been a good slave. He’d have had a cute little tunic, with maybe some pretty braid—nothing too fancy, because, hello, slave—and it’d be just a little bit too short. Because the Romans may have invented scissors, socks and satire, but they’d never quite got around to boxer shorts, so every time Kit bent over everyone would get a peek at his sexy little bum.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ – Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy – Unwrapped: The Birthday Gift by Josephine Myles

Mark started to snigger, an incredibly infectious sound, and before I knew it I was laughing, too, the build up of nervous energy making me slightly hysterical. But then I opened my eyes and saw such love in Mark’s gaze that I relaxed again, slumping back against the cushions and watching them both as they rode out the laughter and set to work on me.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ – Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy – Getting a Filling by JL Merrow

He leaned over Ivo, the heat of his body a tangible thing. “Open wide, please.”

Oh, I’d love to open wide for you, Ted, Ivo thought. Green eyes widened, and in the corner Colin made a sort of sputtering sound. Ivo felt a sudden chill. “Did I say that aloud?”

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿Always You by Nell Iris

He laughts again—always such a happy guy, laughing, smiling, and grinning at me all the time—and then he clasps my shoulder. “All right, my friend. I’ll leave you to your date. And remember the lecture your dad gave you on safe sex.” He guffaws, so damed happy with his joke, and saunters off.

I shake my head and chuckle. “Thanks for reminding me of the most awkward moment of my life,” I yell after him.

“That’s what friends are for,” he yells back, then the door slams shut and I’m alone.

“Bloody gorgeous idiot. He’s going to be the death of me.

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿Always You by Nell Iris

With a grumble, I make a detour and throw open the door, swallowing whatever I was going to say when I’m met by Her Royal Blondeness, blue-eyed, athletic, bouncy Debora.

She smiles, but her gaze is intense, as through she’s trying to figure out something about me just by staring a whole into me.

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿Always You by Nell Iris

My mouth goes dry, my heart thumps in my chest, and all my questions fall away except one.

“But…” I lick my lips—what was I going to say? His thumb, his thumb, his thumb “Loving me is one thing. What about…”

“…sex?” His voice is as husky as mine.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿Always You by Nell Iris

You’re ridiculous, I mouth to the mirror, then I nod as though I’m agreeing with myself.

I run my fingers through my hair, making a mess of the curls I painstakingly brushed just minutes ago until I look like my head got caught in a wind tunnel.

“Get dressed,” I mutter to myself, but I still make no move to grab the clothes.

Not even when Lee wiggles the door handle and does something that produces weird noises, do I do anything but stand there, like my atoms are frozen at absolute zero and unable to move.

  1. Awww, thank you for including so many quotes even though I know it didn’t take you 4 days to read my book ❤️❤️

Also: Sunday’s quote is hilarious!! 😁

    1. Yeah, I decided to be lazy and not try to set up the info for a third book, so I stretched yours and just read 25% of it per day. Helps that I already knew how it ended, so I didn’t have to wait and wonder what was going to happen.

LOL…yeah…that mini anthology was funny all through. 😂
