Treadmill Week 92 & What I #amreading

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

My favorite lines this week:

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ – Only in His Dreams

Travis laughed. “Don’t worry. You look like I just said we’ve been planning your murder.”

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ – Only in His Dreams

Travis stilled and didn’t respond for so long, Darrell wished he could take the words back or crawl into a crack in the floor. He’d just made a total fool out of himself. His stomach in knots, he opened his mouth to say something…anything. It was a joke, maybe.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ – Mowed, but read anyway. – Only in His Dreams

“Bring him to the family dinner a week from Sunday.”

Darrell’s stomach twisted. “I’ll think about it.”

“You know Mama will insist as soon as she hears.”

Oh, hell.

“She’s not going to hear, Micah.”

Micah merely laughed. “Talk to you later.”

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ – Mowed, but read anyway. – Only for Him

Barnaby Lassiter thought perhaps if he squinted his left eye and tilted his head a bit to the right the guy leering at him from the other end of the bar could pass for him. The man at the other end had dark hair and glasses like him. Maybe if he had another drink or two or three he could pretend.

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ – Only in for Him

“Tomorrow is Monday. Are you gong to pretend I don’t exist? Or are we going to keep seeing each other?”

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ – Only for Him

Barnaby shook his head, burying his face in his brother’s shoulder. His breath shook as he tried to get the words out.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ – Tuckered from the yard word, but read anyway – Only His Heart

The pretty young thing, who had blue eyes Matt noticed when he looked up, gave him the coldest look he’d ever seen. He stared dagggers is how it was referred to, and lesser men would no doubt have been felled by it.

    1. True, and in fact I did listen to one of the few audiobooks I have (which are all mainstream)—Pride and Prejudice—while I was mowing. Trouble is, I would have no way to highlight the passage of the day if listened to my book of the week while mowing (plus that would limit the books I could choose…plus, until/unless I get an audible subscription, that’s pricy as hell).

    2. I should add, though, that I do have a text-to-speech option in my Marvin epub reader app, but I only use it for books I’ve previously read, because the quality of the cadence/pausing/inflections/etc would make it more difficult to follow a story I wasn’t already familiar with.
