I’ve gone and signed up as a “Featured Author” at the GRL Retreat in Denver, CO that’s taking place Oct. 19-22. I’m not sure what possessed me to do it, but I’m going to try not to chicken out. I wanted to attend something smaller as an observer before trying out something of this scale, but that hasn’t happened. Guess I’m jumping in at the deep end without a life jacket.
My way of coping with the stress of not knowing what to expect or what to do is to research. I’m looking at contest ideas and swag options, but I would dearly love if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me.
Yay! I’m excited for you! I’m going to live vicariously through your experience come October, and I’ll cheer you on all the way from Asia.
I’m no expert when it comes to swag, but everybody loves a great pen, right? (Or is it just me who’s obsessed with pens? 😀 )
Great idea. I want to do something more than bookmarks (although I’ll probably do those, too). <3
I never really used bookmarks, even when I read books made out of paper (remember those? 🙂 ) I always bought pretty ones and ended up using toilet paper or an old receipt anyway 🙂
Maybe postcards? They’re fun, and I can use them as both a bookmark or send them to a fellow MM lover. I don’t know your budget so feel free to ignore me if I’m totally out of control here, but I love tote bags, and I’d totally use one with Nash and Emmitt on 🙂
I love those button/pins thingies…but maybe that’s just me and all the teenagers in the world (I swear I have lots on my bag!). I also love stickers. I have a unicorn-sticker on my calendar and rainbow stickers on my computer and my tablet. But maybe that’s also just me and the teenagers? Maybe I never really grew up? 🙂
Ah, well. I’m sure you’ll come up with fabulous things.
Oh, and make sure to bring chocolate to give away. Even bad swag will be terrific if there’s chocolate, that’s my firm belief 😀
A tote bag could be a prize in a contest, not just a regular giveaway. That’d be an awesome prize 🙂
Great ideas, thank you! 😀
What are your thoughts on magnets?
I love them! I can’t believe I didn’t think of them!
On my desk I have these boxes made out of metal that hides all my cables, and I’ve put magnets on them. So not just for the fridge! 🙂
