#SnippetSunday is a Facebook group where you can sample a few sentences from a variety of authors’ works each week.
Here are ten lines from ’Til Death Do Us Part, in honor of the upcoming print release. For context, Military Police have paid Sam Miller-Green an unexpected visit. Sam’s fiancé let them in, and Sam has already introduced himself. This is from Sam’s 3rd-person POV:
The man with the round face and warm brown eyes spoke. “I’m Major Johnson and this is Sergeant Rosings.” Sam nodded and they all shook hands. “May we all sit at your table here, Dr. Miller-Greene? We have some images to show you, and I think you’ll find this news rather unsettling.”
Sam felt the blood drain from his face. Unsettling. That sounded like it might be a softer way of saying awful. He took a deep breath and asked, “May my fiancé join us? I get the feeling I’m going to want the moral support.”

I have the feeling that things are going to get… interesting… with the fiance being there…
With the fiance being there I feel like this next snippets are going to get very eventful.
Oh dear. This could get ugly fast. Great snippet, Addison.
Oh-oh, good hook. I’m thinking all kinds of things right now…
Oh, I can’t wait to see what happens next! Great snippet!
Wait … I’m confused … isn’t the fiance on a flight which just crashed?
This scene comes later in the timeline of the story.
Oh yeah… Unsettling is the nice way of putting gruesome or anguish or horrible. I don’t think the fiancé being there is going to help though, that’s going to make things rather…interesting?
