Treadmill Week 90 & What I #amreading – Blackstone Manor Box Set by Kassandra Lea

Treadmill Goals/Tracking

  • Get on the treadmill (or equivalent exercise) daily
  • Pace is fine at 30 min/mile, although I may up it on occasion
  • Time range between 30 minutes and 1 hour per day
  • Distance 1-2 miles per day
  • Read the chosen book, which I won’t allow myself to read outside of my treadmill time, hopefully motivating me to reach or exceed the above goals (exception…at the end of the week where a book is highlighted, I will finish it off-treadmill so I can feature something new the next week)

My favorite lines this week:

✿✿ SUNDAY ✿✿ (Blackstone Manor)

The air that greeted him was stale, stagnant, stinking of mildew and mold and lives long forgotten.

Underneath it lurked something else, the hint of a scent he should have known but at the present moment couldn’t place.

✿✿ MONDAY ✿✿ (Blackstone Manor)

There was a rumble of thunder in the distance, harkening to a storm headed in their direction. What little he knew about the spirit world said his timing was good, the energy from the weather likely to make his evening easier.

✿✿ TUESDAY ✿✿ (Heart’s Triumph)

With a sigh, Cinder took Io’s hand in his own, causing a spark of electricity to shoot through Io. Cinder tugged him along as he headed for the door. “Come, duck, I clearly can’t leave you here alone building blanket forts or whatever it was you were doing.”

I was trying to smell like you,” he said again, following Cinder down the stairs like a lost puppy dog.

✿✿ WEDNESDAY ✿✿ (Heart’s Triumph)

He’d walked in the darkness for so long, he no longer recalled the warmth of the sun unless he felt it coming up from the heated pavement.

✿✿ THURSDAY ✿✿ (Promised)

Cinder realized he had spaced out again. In one quick motion he flipped the picture face down on the desk. Even though it was just a photo, he couldn’t shake the sensation that Io was staring accusingly at him.

✿✿ FRIDAY ✿✿ (Promised)

The October breeze was cool, perhaps even borderline chilly, especially on the lake front. Nevertheless, Io sat on the pier, dangling his feet into the inky waters. At least one of the homes on the shore scented the air with the aroma of fire. He inhaled deeply, especially fond of this time of year, when the world readied for its months’ long slumber. Bitterly cold days meant snuggling closer to Cinder.

✿✿ SATURDAY ✿✿ (A Gargoyle Christmas)

“I prefer to think of it as enthusiasm.”

“He possesses a lot of it.”

Yes. It looks like Santa threw up in Blackstone.”
