Accomplishment #1

Change of Plans

My only new release in 2021 was in mid-July with Change of Plans, a novella finishing the Plans Trilogy, which began in 2018 with what was meant to be a standalone, feel-good, meet-cute novelette, The Contingency Plan. At the time, I liked the idea of the princes riding off into a sunny, fairytale, un-story-worthy happy ever after. Ultimately it was followed a little more than a year later with the novella, The Best-Laid Plans, which gives our heroes the nail-biting drama I didn’t have the heart to unleash on them when I wrote the original short. They get even more drama handed to them in the finale along with a satisfying HEA.

A little disclaimer…don’t worry, I dislike stories where our heroes seemingly fall in love, then in a sequel something happens to negatively affect their feelings toward each other (often with contrived too-stupid-to-live behavior and/or big misunderstandings) just as much as you probably do. Never fear! This is NOT what happens in this series. Our heroes’ feelings don’t waver, outside influences create the stories’ drama. Although it should be noted that our heroes do forget one another in book 3 due to a toxin they were administered, but they are still every bit the same reasonable people they were in books 1 and 2. We simply get a fun new story for them to re-fall in love, even better than before, while dealing with the final conclusion to the outside drama they dealt with in book 2.

Accomplishment #2

Weekend at Bigfoot’s ~ Winner!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG…I’m still not quite over the exhilarating surprise of seeing my cover come up as Elisa announced the winners and runners up in the 2020-2021 Rainbow Awards. Weekend at Bigfoot’s won 1st place in the Gay Paranormal Romance category and also was a 4th-tier runner up in the combined Best Gay Book category!

Perhaps it might be pushing it just a tad to say this is an accomplishment for 2021 since the book was actually published at the very beginning of the qualifying range for the awards, way back toward the end of 2019, but hey, it’s not like I could have listed the win as an accomplishment back then, so you’re getting it now.
